It was a chance encounter in 1979, at Ohio State University, when Alan and Rosemary first met. Rosemary making octopi sculptures and Alan, haunted by a childhood fascination with fish, were inspired to create a unique collaboration that continues to thrive today.

Alan and Rosemary make art fashioned after fish, and other aquatic life. The process begins with a series of sketches that are fashioned into basic forms from stoneware clay and porcelain. These forms are manipulated, hollowed out and added to. The pieces are then bisque fired, and glazes are applied by dipping, spraying and by brushing. The pieces are then fired again.
